Wendy Murphy Cox, 47, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Hospice Home. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Clinton and Mary Lou Brown Murphy.
Wendy was a longtime member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and her dog, "Scrappy."
Survivors include her daughters, Kelly Cox and fiancé, Chris Smith of Burlington and Amanda Cox of Burlington; sons, Kevin Cox and fiancé, Ashley Cordle of Elon and Dennis Cox and fiancé, Amy Huskey of Burlington; grandchildren, Kadence Cox, Kaley Cox and Khloe Cox; brothers, Edward "Eddie" Murphy and wife, Janice of Mebane and Wendell Murphy and wife, Ginger of Burlington and a sister, LuAnne Stacey of Elon. She is preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be held at Staley Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Bennie Smith and the Rev. Gary Yeatts with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
