Don Hamer Bryant, 90, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired Assistant Vice President of SC National Bank in Moncks Corner, died Tuesday evening at his residence.
His funeral will be 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2020, at the graveside in the St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests memorials be made to the Moncks Corner First Presbyterian Church, 419 West Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Mr. Bryant was born June 3, 1930, in Rowland, NC, a son of J. Earl Bryant and Janie Bullock Bryant. He was a member of the Moncks Corner First Presbyterian Church, and he served his Country as a corporal in the US Army. Mr. Bryant graduated from high school in Lumberton, NC, attended Wingate Junior College, and graduated from Bowling Green Business University in Bowling Green, KY. In his earlier years, he was a tobacco buyer for both Person Garrett Company, Inc., in Greenville, NC, and Universal Leaf Tobacco Company, Inc., in Richmond, VA. In 1962, Mr. Bryant moved to Moncks Corner and began a 17 year career at the Berkeley Motor Company before selling the business in 1982 to pursue his career in banking from which he retired in 1995, after first serving as the Branch Manager and Loan Officer for the SC National Bank in St. Stephen and then assuming his final position at the Moncks Corner branch.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann King Bryant; a daughter, Donna Louise Bryant Davis and her husband, Will, of Moncks Corner; and two grandchildren, W. Bryant Davis and Mary Louise Davis both of Moncks Corner.
