Betty Grace Vines Walters, 75, entered into the presence of her Lord late Tuesday. A native of Tuscaloosa, she graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1963 and attended college level courses.
Most important and significant in Betty’s life was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of Whitesburg Baptist Church where she was a worker in the home-bound ministry.
Betty loved singing, writing, painting and drawing, but most of all her family and extended family. For 17 years she sang with the Sunshine Singers performing at assisted living and nursing homes. She wanted everyone to trust in Jesus Christ.
Survivors include husband of 57 years, George Walters; daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Walters (Tommy); brother, Judson Vines (Mary); sisters, Rachel Farris, Celia Garner, Edna Vines, and Margaret Vines. Additionally, she was survived by George's brothers, Stanley Walters (Peggy) and Phillip Walters (Angie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Vines, mother, Grace Elizabeth Quinn Vines, and brother James C. Vines.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday, October 9th at Maple Hill Cemetery with a celebration of life service to be held at a later date.
We will see each other again, Remember to pray, To enjoy life, and To stay close to Jesus.
Memorials may be made to the ARK Animal Shelter in Huntsville, or to the Whitesburg Baptist Church Home-Bound Ministry, Huntsville, Alabama.
