Ronald Lee Butler, age 87 of Newaygo and formerly of Grant, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 27, 1933 to Kenneth and Hazel (Allen) Butler in Auburn, IN and was raised in Ionia, Michigan. Ron served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1957. He married Vera Calder on May 14, 1955 and they were married for over 65 years. Ron and Vera owned Ron Butler Motor Sales and Grant Supermarket in Grant. He also served as Manager of Brookhaven Estates in Newaygo.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Vera Butler; his sons, Curtis (Linda) Butler,Bradley (Alida) Butler, Rex Butler; his grandchildren, Nick Butler, Alex Butler, Aaron Butler, Jacob Butler, Stacy Butler Sines, Casey (Bethany) Butler, Katie Butler;
eleven great-grandchildren, his sister, Doris (Larry) Cobb; and many nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hazel Butler; his brothers, Keith Butler and Robert Butler; and his sister, JoAnn Smith.

Cremation will take place and burial will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Grant.

Memorial contributions may be given in Ron's name to Newaygo County Compassion Home or Spectrum Hospice.
