Susan Cook Croxford Parsons, 83, of The Village at Brookwood, Burlington, was called home to her Lord on October 3rd, 2020.

Susan was a native of Fremont, Ohio and moved to North Carolina as a young girl. She was the daughter of the late Harold Cook and Helen Chudzinski Cook, and the adopted daughter of the late Edward Croxford and Alice Weber Croxford.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey B. Parsons and wife Cindy of Charlotte; daughter, Dawn Parsons Fox of Dunn; and son, M. Justin Parsons and wife Abby of Troy; grandsons, Jackson Wade Goodman of Durham, Ian Edward Parsons of Charlotte, and Spencer Logan Goodman of Wilmington; brother, Clay Cook and wife Barbara of Sterling Heights, Michigan; sister, Cathy C. Boufford of Spring Lake, Michigan and sister, Cindy C. Kohn and husband Steve of Oak Park, Michigan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her husband of fifty-one years, Clarence Wright Parsons, preceded her in death. Her sister, Carol C. Prince of Royal Oak, Michigan, also preceded her in death.

Susan graduated from the Women’s College of the University of North Carolina (UNCG) with an associate’s degree in the secretarial sciences. She retired after a career of thirty years first as an Executive Secretary for YMCA of Greenville, South Carolina, then a Human Resources Manager for Rental Towel & Uniform Service, National Linen Service, G&K Services, and TS Designs.

Susan was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Burlington, having served as a Deacon, and an active participant in the Women of the Church circles. She was honored with the Church’s “Woman of the Year” award in 2016. She also volunteered her time as a receptionist in the Church’s main office.

Susan was an avid bridge player and bargain hunter. She enjoyed gardening, antique shopping, cross-stitch, bingo, visiting with her children and grandchildren, and spoiling her beloved Maltese, Cupcake.

Her funeral services will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church, 508 West Davis Street, Burlington.

Graveside services will be held at Clinton City Cemetery in Clinton, N.C.
