Ralph E. Lucas May 11, 1945 - August 17, 2008 Ralph E. Lucas, 63, of rural Howard, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1945, in Dry Top, Boggs Township, a son of the late Harry K. and P. Jean McCartney Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a truck driver for Davidson Brothers and Gensimore Trucking. He enjoyed NASCAR, doing auto mechanics, gardening, fishing, cooking and lending a hand (he would give you the shirt off his back), and spending time with his family. He was a cornea donor. He was a Protestant. In addition to his former wife, Janet M. Lucas, he is survived by a son, Ralph E. Lucas II, of rural Howard; two daughters, Patti A. Menges and her fiancŽ, Robert Harpster, of Bellefonte, and Karen M. Richner (Walter), of rural Howard; three brothers, Daniel I. (Regina) Lucas, of Bellefonte, Larry C. (Yvonne) Lucas, of Dry Top and Thomas R. (Margie) Lucas, of Dry Top; a sister, Iris M. (John) Hockenberry, of Dry Top; five grandchildren, Travis M. Lucas, Katelynn M. Richner, Colby J. Richner, Ryan T. Menges and Tyler J. Menges; and a great-grandchild, Mason J. Houtz. Friends will be received from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg. The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Hoskins officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be in memory of Ralph E. Lucas to The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 288, Milesburg, PA 16853.
