Curtis Champion age 77, of Hayden passed away Sunday Oct. 4, 2020, at his residence. Curtis was born on March 12, 1943, in Jefferson County, AL the Son of Charles Champion, Sr. and Virginia Stephens Champion. He was retired after working many years as Head Custodian and a Bus Driver for Pinson Valley High School. He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his Wife: Vickie Champion of Hayden; Children: Curtis Champion, Jr. and Wife, Debra of East Lake; Katie Hopper and Husband, Randy of Center Point; Jennifer Payne and Husband, Anthony of Susan Moore and Brian (Lauren) Quinn of Leeds; Brothers and Sisters: Charles “Sonny” Champion, Jr. of Pell City; Marie Clinkscales of Leeds; David (Linda) Champion of Atlanta, GA; Bill (June) Champion of Odenville; Terry (Geraldine) Champion of Nectar and Eddie Champion of Nectar; Mother in law: Helen (Charles) Newsome of Hayden; 10 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and a Host of Nieces and Nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Charles, Sr. and Virginia Champion; Sister: Angeline Starr; Granddaughter: Alexsis Payne; Father in law: Olen McCoy and Brother in law: Danny McCoy. Funeral Service will be Thurs. Oct. 8, 2020, at 1 PM at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Lynn and Rev. John Fallin officiating. Burial will follow in Copeland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM. Blountsville Funeral Home, directing.
