The sun rises a little later and sets earlier when Autumn arrives. On October 3rd, in the early hours before dawn, Kevin T. Bell, Sr., age 60, was reunited with his beloved Josephine. In the presence of the King, there was a glorious celebration in heaven.

Lieutenant Colonel Kevin T. Bell, Sr. (Retired USAF) was born in Germany on January 6, 1960 to Blanche J. Bell and Dr. Christopher C. Bell, Jr., a US Army officer whose assignments took the family around the world. Kevin, along with his two brothers and his sister, settled in Portsmouth, VA. He was a Manor High School honor graduate and a member of All-State Chorus, cross-country and wrestling teams. He was awarded academic and athletic scholarships while attended Boston University where he was a member of the wrestling team and earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

Kevin returned home and attended Norfolk State University where he earned his Master's degree in social work. After working in North Carolina, he attended officer training school. Upon receiving his commission, he began an outstanding 20 year career in the United States Air Force where he acquired numerous military decorations, citations, and medals. He retired from the Air Force in July 2007. He continued his career as a Behavioral Health Supervisor, receiving numerous accolades and awards. After an accomplished career, he officially retired in January 2020.

Kevin was a great man of faith. He was a dedicated member and a Deacon at Greater Love Ministries Church of God in Christ, as well as a Sunday School Superintendent.

Kevin enjoyed putting together puzzles, reading and listening to audiobooks, watching movies, listening to music and singing, but most importantly, spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.

Kevin's laugh was infectious and brightened the spirits of those around him. His knowledge of leadership, social work, and the military was infinite. He cared about and valued everyone he encountered. He was a protector, a mentor, and a genuine friend.

As a father, Kevin will be remembered as a pillar of love, affection, wisdom, and support. His love for his children and grandchildren was indescribable and the memories created with him will be cherished forever.

Kevin is survived by his children Kellari Camp, Quintin Camp (son-in-law), Shynequa Arielle Bell, Tatyana Monique Bell and Kevin Timothy Bell, Jr.; grandchildren Kyrie, Kylen, and Kalani Camp; brothers Christopher C. Bell III, Keith Bell, and sister Kathleen R. Howell; his father Dr. Christopher C. Bell, Jr. and wife Sadie Bell. He will be missed by family, church members, co-workers, former patients, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus.

Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
