In 1978 Harvey graduated from Dickson High School. Harvey first job was helping his father and brothers build fence. He would later secure a job working in the Winn Dixie on South Washington in Ardmore. In 1984 he was hired by the Plainview Schools. It is here that Harvey became part of the Plainview family and would remain until his retirement. Harvey was loved and respected by all within the Plainview Family. He was a gentle man with a kind heart and was always willing to help students, staff, faculty, and administration.
His job title while working at Plainview Schools was custodian and grounds keeper. He took the duties of his job very seriously. It was not just a job to Harvey but a vocation. Harvey work diligently in the performance of his duties. He was loved by all. He always had smile for everyone and laugh that would bring joy to all he encountered. Harvey was loved by all and was a cherished part of the Plainview Family.
Harvey was a family man. On November 5, 1983 he would marry Alice Sue Barton at the Lake Murray Chapel. They would have one daughter Jessica born in 1985. Harvey cherished his time with his family and would take them with him wherever he went. He loved his church an enjoyed gospel singing.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alice, brothers, Tommy Johnson Sr. and jimmy Johnson, and sister, Ann Randolph. Harvey is survived by his daughter Jessica Lynn Taylor, stepchildren, Tammy Huey, Danny Ezell, Jr., and David Ezell. Brothers Eddie Johnson, Freddie Johnson, and sister Evelyn Taylor.
