TERRY NEIL OAKES
November 15, 1867 ~ October 3, 2020

Terry Neil Oakes was born November 15, 1967, in Hugo, OK and later made his home in Tyler, Texas. He worked as a Union Steward for the United States Postal Service for many years. After retirement from the USPS he returned to Hugo.

Terry loved rock and roll music and it wouldn’t do unless it was cranked up loud. He was stuck in the 80’s and proud of that fact. Terry was a lifelong Steelers fan and loved Mardi Gras and being in New Orleans, he married his wife Tori there on March 21, 2004. He loved rescuing and fostering animals that had been abandoned. Terry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Terry is survived by his mother, Sharon Kaye Oakes of Hugo, OK; wife, Victoria of the home; sons, Casey Neil Oakes of Dallas, TX, and Nicholas Dylan Slavinsky of Columbia, MO; daughter, Haley Paige Sutton and husband Joshua Brian Sutton of Mineola, TX;

Two step-sons, Matthew Millhollon of Ada, OK and Robert Millhollon and wife Makala of Ardmore, OK; brothers, Lanny “Porkchop” Oakes and wife Dianne of Hugo, Brent Oakes and wife Tabitha of Durant, OK. Nieces and nephews, Chance Oakes, Chase Oakes, Kiersten and Aubrey Oakes; step grandson Samuel John Millhollon. and many other family and friends.
