Jessie Eloise Blodgett was the daughter of Foster Blodgett Jr. and Emma Pool Blodgett. She was born October 7, 1860 in Newberry, South Carolina.
On January 7, 1874, Jessie married Ephraim Tweedy in Columbia, South Carolina. They were married by the Rev. J.K. Mendenhall at the Wheeler House.
Jessie and Ephraim had three sons named Frank Edward, John, and Ephraim Tweedy.
About 1889, the Tweedy's separated or divorced on account of Mrs. Tweedy having an affair with a Mr. Fred H. Jones. Ephraim sued Jones and Jones was jailed and fined (Ephraim was 29 years older than Jessie.).
Mrs. Tweedy was described as being a beautiful lady who was an invalid with consumption for many years. She lived at 412 Courtland Avenue and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
Jessie's funeral notice was listed in the Atlanta Constitution and the Christian Index which stated that interment was in Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Tweedy died yesterday at her residence, No. 412 Courtland Avenue. She was a Christian lady with many lovable and excellent traits of character and was for a long time an invalid with consumption. The funeral will occur from the residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock.
