Frank Walpole Wright, 93, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Frank was born August 26, 1927 in Sarasota, Florida, to the late Reverdy and Ruth Wright. He was also preceded in death by son, Jeff Wright by his first wife Phyllis Clare Mindigo Wright Dendy (1927-2002).
Frank was a WWII Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Pitts Baptist Church. Frank was a proud member of the DAV Concord Chapter #27 and American Legion of Harrisburg, Post 523. He served on the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. Frank retired in 1996 from Tropicana Juice Co. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Frank loved everyone and was loved by all.
Survivors include wife of 48 years, Susan Kay Wright; daughter, Debbie (Rick) Baker of Concord; daughter, Carla Sue Williams of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Greg (Gina) Wright of Kalamazoo, MI; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, Reverdy Wright of Christiansburg, VA; daughter-in-law, Gail Wright of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Tamara (Danny) Knott of Christiansburg, VA; niece, Enid (Sam) Wilson of Pensacola, FL; and niece, Branwen Wright of Chautauqua, NY.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis. Frank will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow the service in the church cemetery.
