Shannon's passion and love was teaching and inspiring others to learn. She adored her students and they adored her. She began her teaching career in Grants, New Mexico. In 2010, she moved to Denver to be closer to her big sister. She taught at Silver Creek High School in Longmont and, most recently, taught at Riverdale Ridge High School in Adams County. She was known as an amazing educator and a tireless supporter of her students. She effortlessly built trust with them and made a significant impact on their lives.
She was a loving person and known for her random acts of kindness and generosity. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.
Shannon was preceded in death by her father John.
A private mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10th, 2020, at St. Margaret Mary Church, followed by a public graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Cortez Cemetery. A gathering for friends and family will immediately follow.
