Darryl was born and raised in Hartford, son of Barbara J. Hill and the late William J. Hill. He graduated from the Hartford Public School System worked a variety of jobs.
Darryl was a loving father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. His family will remember him as a kind, caring, and loving man whose family meant the world to him. He loved his daughter, Onyae, dearly and his "Dad and Daughter" time with her was very important to him.
Darryl was a very strong-willed man who never let his ailments get the better of him. He always just pushed through the pain and never put attention on himself. He was thoughtful, selfless, and was always there to help anyone who needed him.
Darryl was like a father to his nieces and nephews and no matter what they needed, he always made sure they were taken care of. His family could depend on him for anything and he was their caretaker. Whether it was picking the kids up from school or organizing a move, he would do whatever was asked of him. He was a role model for his family and led by example. Darryl never had a bad word to say about anyone and would not let anyone bad mouth someone in front of him.
He loved to laugh and had an infectious smile. He enjoyed doing crossword and find-a-word puzzles and listening to Old School music. He also loved to watch Law and Order and hang out with his mother, Barbara, who he took wonderful care of.
Besides his mother, Darryl is survived by his daughter, Onyae N. Hill of Bristol; his sisters, Pamela Harris-Alston of New Britain, and Naisha Bennett of East Hartford; a special brother, Warren P. Bennett and his wife Yvette of Jamaica Queens, NY; his nephews and nieces, Brandon D. Hill, Robert Seatts, Jr., Chasity N. Hill, Cheyenne Seatts, Ja'Kai J. Bennett, Jada Seatts, and Jamir P. "Cheeks" Bennett; his great nephew, Isaiah N. "Platter" Rush; and special cousins, Michael, Bernard, Sal, Breeze, and Oink; his special friends, Aretha Crandall and Danielle Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Sandra “Sandy” L. Hill; his cousin, Curtis White; and his brother-in-law, Courtney Alston.
