On 19th September 1940, James married Catherine Ann Ogg in Inverness, Highland, Scotland. Post World War 2, they both lived in quarters at what was then 2 Central Terrace, Euxton, Lancashire, as James worked at ROF Chorley (Euxton) as a Police Constable for the War Department. James and Catherine had one son, James Allen Coughlan, who was born in 1943 in Inverness and spent most of his life living in Norfolk.
We do know that according to records James's father died the same year he was born, recorded as being 32 years old, in December 1903.
If you happen to read this and know whether James had siblings, possibly what happened to Mary Agnes Coughlan and how James himself ended up in Scotland please do get in touch.
