Mark Allen Patterson was born on October 19, 1959, the son of Junior and Betty (Biggs) Patterson in Marshalltown, Iowa. He grew up within the Marshalltown community and graduated from Marshalltown High School.
On December 10, 2007, Mark married Peggy Wilson in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mark enjoyed going camping, fishing, watching the Chicago Cubs, and doing work on his yard.
Surviving are his wife Peggy Patterson; his children Josh Patterson and Ashley Ruring; three grandchildren; his brother Dale (Linda) Patterson; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Junior Patterson and Betty Tenney and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
