ARMSTRONG, Ronald Dean; of Waterford formerly of Clarkston; passed away unexpectedly at home on April 3, 2020; age 79; husband of Phyliss "Jean" for 56 years; father of Dean (Diane) Armstrong, Eric (Tanis) Armstrong and Rhonda Armstrong; grandpa of Clark Armstrong and Emma Armstrong; oldest brother of Gary (Hilda) Armstrong, Naomi (John) Pannell, late Barbara (Coy) Dockery, Randy (Shawn) Armstrong, late Larry (late Peggy) Armstrong, Diane (Rev. Terry) Vance and Richard (Kathy) Armstrong; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ron served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1959-1963. He was on the USCGC Mackinac WAVP-371 for two years and then served 2 years at the Customs House in New York. He retired from Kamax, Troy and in his retirement enjoyed gardening, spending time on the computer and watching FOX News. He was very patriotic and supported President Donald Trump. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 17th at 11:00am at Community Bible Church, Waterford with visiting at the church at 10:30am. Interment with military honors to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. Ron would ask all to support first responders and their families.
