Mr. Morris was born in Lawley, AL on January 18, 1946, son of the late Verton Morris and the late Myrtle Hale Morris. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy “Red” Morris. Mr. Morris spent his career in tree services. He was employed with Asplundh Tree Experts for over 32 years and was currently a Manager with Tree’s Unlimited, where he has been employed for over 21 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joyce Ann Hunt, to whom he was married on January 27, 1966; a daughter, Michele Morris, Lindale; 3 sons, Billy E. Morris, Jr. (Jamie), Rome, Roy Michael Morris (Angela), Lindale, and Perry Dewayne Morris, Lindale; 2 sisters, Geneva Guess and Kathrine Porter, both of Lake Park, GA; 2 brothers, Jerry Morris, Brandon, Mississippi, and Perry Morris, Sr., Lake Park, GA; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 1pm until the service hour. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
