Evelyn Willis Gray, 93, of Eagle Rock, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Finley Gray, Sr.; parents, Dalton & Lola Willis; brothers, Mack, Clifford & Wilford Willis. Evelyn worked for C & P Telephone Company for 47 ½ years and was a member of Grace Baptist Church of New Castle. Surviving are her son, James Finley Gray, Jr. (Christine); grandsons, Matthew Gray & Jimmy Dean Gray; brother, Robert (Bob) Willis; numerous nieces, nephews, friends & her beloved church family. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Leiner at UVA & Dr. Dennis Abraham at DUKE for taking special care of Evelyn. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church (New Castle) with Rev. Jere King officiating. Interment will follow at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020. The family will receive friends one-hour prior at the church. Arrangements by Oakey’s North Chapel.
