On Monday, 28 September 2020, Air Force Veteran, William Frank II of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born on November 05, 1937 in Queens, New York to Felix and Angeline Frank. Bill retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of honorable service, serving tours in Vietnam and throughout Europe and the United States.

His friends and community best knew Bill because of his love for the railway. After his second retirement as a defense contractor he pursued his passion through photographing and studying trains throughout the world. He used his knowledge and talent to design and build 0 gauge models for Aristocraft Trains. In 1994 he was one of the driving forces behind the placement of the first trains around the National Christmas tree. He continued to do so for the next 12 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Angeline Frank of Long Island, New York, his wife Edith Frank of Charles Town, his son David Frank of Washington and two grandchildren, Timothy L. Frank II and Hope M. Christian, both of Virginia. He is survived by four children, Timothy Frank of Nevada, William Frank III of Georgia, Paul Frank of Washington and Robin Christian of Tennessee. Bill was also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Cynthia and Christopher Frank, Thena Camden and Robert Frank, Angeline Christian Miller and Andrew Christian, and Christina Frank Washington, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister, Linda Frank of Long Island, New York and nephew, Michael Santangelo of Maryland.

Bill will be buried with Military Honors on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
