Maria was the daughter of Martin and Rosemary Mendez and sister of Jose, Amanda,
Leonardo, Eric and Esmeralda.
Maria was raised in Austin, but lived in Dale, Texas, graduating from Lockhart High School in 2015. She was employed at the Lockhart Dairy Queen, where she was an assistant manager. If you knew "Nena" as she was called, you knew that she was a hard worker. She loved working out and always had a smile on her face for everyone she came in contact with.
Survived by her wife of 2 years, Abrieane Ellis Mendez and their son, Amenadied Ryan Mendez, her parents and siblings.
