Mary Davenport, age 83, of Chesapeake, VA passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 27th. Mary was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Joseph and Mary Sucec. Mary graduated from Pridwen Catholic High School in 1955 and later worked at the State Capital Building in Harrisburg. After moving to Virginia, she worked for General Electric and Owen Pattern Foundry. Mary enjoyed reading, baking, traveling when she was able, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she always entertained with her funny stories.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Elijah Davenport of Portsmouth, and her sister Ann Saul of New Cumberland, PA.

Mary is survived by her son, Paul Townsley and wife, Ruth Ann and their 2 children, Sarah and Kathryn; her son, Thomas Davenport and wife, Courtney and their 4 children, Eli, Jacob, Lincoln and Amelia; her sisters, Helen Richley and Barbara Hoffsommer; and a brother, Joe Sucec.

A private graveside service is scheduled at noon on Saturday, October 3rd at the Davenport family farm in Amelia, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughter in Norfolk, VA. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com where you may leave a note to the family.
