Sheryl moved to Winder in 2016 because she could no longer live alone.
She was the daughter of the late James D. (J.D.) and Jewell Harrell Smith of Cordele.
She is survived by her son James D. (Jamie) Phillips of Cordele and her granddaughter Melissa Phillips.
Also surviving are her sister, Linda S. Horton and husband Otis of Winder and brother Jim Smith and wife, Mary Jane Smith of Wilmington, NC;
her nephews, Ben Horton and wife Tarah Horton of Charlotte, NC and Claude Smith and wife Tracy of
Fayetteville and her niece, Laura H. Williams and husband, Aaron Williams of Winder; and five great-nieces.
Sheryl worked for the Crisp County School system as a para-pro with developmentally challenged
High School age students for many years. She also worked with a dog groomer, more of a hobby to her than work.
A graveside service at Sunnyside Cemetery will be held and the time will be announced.
