Laura K. Parks, 51, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Funeral services were held 2 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Ronald Parks officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Parks was born July 23, 1969, in Ocilla, Georgia, to Henry Joseph Lavender and the late Betty Hogan Lavender Dickson. She earned a business accounting degree from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Parks worked for ScanScape and dearly loved her grandchildren. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed all kinds of music. She was a member of Anderson Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ronald Parks of Fitzgerald; daughter, Stephanie & Daniel Slaten of Holiday, Florida; grandchildren: Ashtyn Slaten, Allyssa Slaten, Kole Slaten, Sarah Slaten, and Noah Slaten; her father, Henry Joseph Lavender of Fitzgerald; a brother, Mark Lavender of Fitzgerald; and a sister, Marie & Lance Keller of San Antonio, Texas. Several nieces and nephews and other extended family also survive. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Thomas Lavender.
