Slater Services for Former Resident

SLATER. -- Funeral services for Mrs. H. J. Failor were held at the Riis Funeral Home in Slater Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Failor was a former Slater resident who passed away Saturday December 24 at the home of son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Schultz at Rising Sun near Des Moines.

Rev. William Hoyle pastor of the Slater-Sheldahl Methodist Churches was in charge. He took his text from the 23rd Psalm. Robert Weeks, soloist, sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "Near to the Heart of God." He was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Robert Newman.

The beautiful floral offering were cared for by Mrs. A. J. Mays of Le Grand, Iowa and Mrs. John Gunderson. There were also gifts to worthy causes in memory of Mrs. Failor.

Pallbearers were John Gunderson, John K. Scott, K. J. Granseth, William Van Gundy, Jonas Christianson and Estol Adams. Interment was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Agnes Florence Braley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Braley was born July 28, 1872 at Kellogg, Iowa. On Feb. 20, 1895 she was united in marriage to Harlan Failor. To this union were born three sons, Carroll, Carlton and Samuel and two daughters, Florence and Margaret.

Mr. and Mrs. Failor moved to Slater in 1932 where they resided until 1954. The past year was spent in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Vern Schultz near Des Moines. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Carroll of Rhodes, Carlton of Oostburg, Wisconsin and Samuel of Ames; one daughter, Mrs. Vern Schultz, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter, Margaret preceded her in death.
