Catherine was born on 21st September 1916 at Highfield Park, Conon Bridge, Highland, Scotland to Alexander and Catherine Ogg (maiden surname, Bisset) Prior to her marriage in 1940 she was recorded as being a 'House Tablemaid' at 80 Academy Street, Inverness which was then the Central Temperance Hotel (unlicensed), where she would have likely both lodged and worked.

On 19th September 1940 she married Sgt. James Coughlan 2921824 of 1st Battalion Cameron Highlanders in Inverness, Scotland. Post World War 2, they both lived in quarters at what was then 2 Central Terrace, Euxton, Lancashire, as James worked at ROF Chorley (Euxton) as a Police Constable for the War Department. Catherine had one son, James Allen Coughlan, who was born in 1943 in Inverness and and went on to live in Norfolk for many years.

As a side note - Catherine's parents Alexander & Catherine Ogg (maiden surname, Bisset) married on 3rd December 1909 in Milton of Redcastle, the parish of Killearnan, in the county of Ross & Cromarty. They also had a son named John (Ogg) who was born on 29th January 1910 in Urray, Ross & Cromarty. John sadly died on 1st March 1997, aged 87 years.

However, I'm pleased to say, John's daughter Freda, born on 25th November 1939, still lives close to her roots in Scotland and has 4 children, 7 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

James Allen Coughlan had two children with his wife of 56 years Joan. They themselves have four grandchildren.
