Francis Walker Anderson, a loving husband, father, and grand-dad passed away at the age of 92 in his home North of Wills Point on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Francis was born on May 5, 1928 in the old home place that sat on the same property as his current home to Jack and Adelle Anderson.

Francis attended Wills Point schools until the age of 17 when he joined the Navy and served four years. He often shared stories from his days on the USS Scurry and the USS Kearsarge, and the time he spent in the Philippines.

He returned home and married Mary Joyce Sledge in 1951. Their three children were raised in Wills Point.

In 1972, he married Celinda Ann Covington. Two girls were added to the family. During this time Francis did ranch and farm work, and owned and operated Anderson Tree Service. In 1957 he started his 28 years of service with American Airlines; traveling back and forth with a group of men from Wills Point to Dallas Love Field and later to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport.

He retired in 1985. Francis loved to fish, go camping in their RV, play poker, and his dogs, Lucy and Levy.

To cherish his memories, Francis leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Celinda Anderson. His children, Deborah “Debbie” Joyce (Mike) Goggans-Wills Point, Robert Francis Anderson-Tyler, Elizabeth Ann (Ronnie) McFarland-Wills Point, and Amber Denise (Sam) Massey-Wills Point. His grandchildren: Kim (Shay) Britton, Mark Allen (Hope) Anderson, Cain Anderson, Nicole (Jon Bigham) Goggans, Amanda (Cory) Phillips, Rachel (Colter) Schau, Clayton Lowry, Laynee Massey and Corlee Massey. His great-grandchildren: Caidyn Anderson, Coy Anderson, Ramsey Anderson, Bransyn Anderson, Logan Schau , Brandice Phillips, “CJ” Phillips, Austin Anderson, Jax Anderson, Jocelyn Britton and Jax Schau. His sister Carolyn Jean Watson of Neches.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jenny Adelle Harris Anderson and father Felix Jackson Anderson; sons, Steven Dale Anderson and Felix Gerald “Jerry” Anderson; sister Newton Adelle Atnip, and brother Felix Jackson Jr.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Allan Fuller Funeral Home.

Burial at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
