William Brann Humphries, 88, of 1983 Old Durham Rd., Roxboro, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Born in Halifax Co., VA, Mr. Humphries was the son of the late Claude W. and Beatrice Pugh Humphries and husband of the late Doris Clayton Humphries. He is also preceded in death by his son, William David Humphries; his grandson, Chad Humphries; brothers, John Neal, John Claude and Kalvin Karl Humphries. Mr. Humphries served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as a Captain from the Roxboro Fire Department, having served from 1967-1994. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

A memorial graveside service will be held 3 PM Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Burchwood Cemetery by the Rev. Barry Chambers and the Rev. Jim Shelley.

Mr. Humphries is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sara Humphries; his granddaughter, Jessica Whitt and two great-grandchildren: Faith Ann Whitt and Layla Whitt; his sister, Shirley Campbell.
