Ray McKenzie, 69, of Houston, passed away on September 30, 2020, in Houston, Texas.

He was born August 10, 1951 in Woodville, Texas.

Funeral services for Ray McKenzie will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, Texas. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Friday, October 2, 2020 at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Ray was adopted by Glen and Bertha McKenzie of New London, Texas at the age of 4.

He was a graduate of New London High School.

After graduating he went to work for General Telephone. During his career he transferred to Baytown, Texas and then went to work for ROLM Corporation until it was sold to IBM and went to work for Houston Telephone and Installation Services. He worked for 16 years and retired at the age of 64. He opened his own business of lawnmower repair. He married the love of his life Patsy Rambin in 1999 and they have been happily married for 22 years.

He is a member of Fairbanks Baptist Church and has been ordained a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy McKenzie of Houston; daughter, Rachel Bynum and husband, Bobby of Henderson; sister, Kay Smith of Tyler; grandchildren, Colby Browning of Austin, Emily Ray Bynum of Henderson, Ashley Kay Bynum of Henderson and Paige Gugliuzzi and husband Zack of Kilgore, and great grandchildren, Carter, Kendyl, and Joaquin.

Pallbearers are, Bobby Bynum, Zack Gugliuzzi, Colby Browning, John Smith, Sean Sealbach and Brandon Thompson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
