Jack Harless Hamilton was born on August 10, 1929 in Florence, Texas to Winfield and Ruth (Harless) Hamilton.

He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Florence at the age of 15.

Jack graduated from Florence High School and joined the United States Navy. He received his Honorable Discharge on July 2, 1952 having obtained the rank of Engineman Third Class.

Jack married the love of his life, Wilton "Willie" Estep, on April 4, 1953 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

He started out working as a heavy equipment operator and worked on projects such as the landing strip at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Ranch, the Galveston Seawall, the Sam Rayburn Dam, and road projects all across the state. He retired as a foreman for Duvall which later became the Pennzoil Sulfur Mine.

Always a man, strong in his faith, he was an active member and served as a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Pecos. While living in Pecos, he and Willie volunteered at the senior citizens center where Jack drove the bus. After moving to Giddings, he and Willie joined the First Baptist Church where he was a faithful prayer warrior and always helped in any way he could. Jack and Willie spent many hours helping at the local food pantry in Giddings.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved horses. He was always ready to play a game of dominoes, especially with a group of friends from the church. He spent countless hours watching Westerns on TV.
