WINSTON SALEM –Timothy Lowell Pope, 55, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was born May 7, 1958 in Forsyth Co. to Jacqueline Ann Dosher Pope and the late Tommy Sherrill Pope. Tim was recognized throughout various martial arts systems, holding black belts in several of these for over thirty years. He also was a certified Divemaster, an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his mother, Ann of Winston Salem, surviving are his wife, Rebecca Sullivan Pope of the home; daughter, Amy Shore and husband, J.R. of Boonville; son, Bryan Pope and wife, Angela of Kernersville; five grandchildren, Jordan and Juleigh Shore, Drew, Nick and Abbi Pope; sister, Renee Goodwin and husband, Bill of Raleigh; and a very dear friend/brother, Rocky Schuyler. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Glenn View Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Gupton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross Northwest Chapter North Carolina, 690 Coliseum Drive, Winston Salem, NC 27106 or Glenn View Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 4275 Glenn High Road, Winston Salem, NC 27107 or charity of donor’s choice.
