Shirley Glenn Crouse Williams, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Born May 24, 1936 in Burlington, NC, she is predeceased by her parents Glenn and Mignell (May) Crouse, her husband and love of her life of 35 years, John Junior Williams, sister, Sarah May Sharpe, brothers, Joseph Crouse and Robert Crouse, and granddaughter, Erin Apple.

Shirley enjoyed helping others and she had a sweet, caring spirit. She loved the Lord and accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. She was a faithful member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Graham, NC where she sang in the choir and attended the Golden Agers. Shirley especially loved helping out each year during the summer at Camp Deer Lake, which is a ministry of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church. Two years ago, she moved in with her son and daughter-in-law and began attending Pilot Baptist Church in Zebulon, NC where she continued her faithfulness to the Lord and made many new friends.

Shirley loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them. She enjoyed sewing and was always ready to mend a sock, make a pillow or quilt, or hem pants and dresses. Shirley also was a great cook and was well known for her delicious chicken dumplings. She loved a good meal and especially enjoyed a "good ole pizza" and ice cream of any flavor! Shirley will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Jonna (Robbie) Apple of Mebane, NC, her son Leighton (Janelle) Williams of Zebulon, NC, her granddaughter Celeste Williams, grandson Bobby Apple, great granddaughters Halleigh Proffitt and Lola Van Hoose, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm with visitation prior to the service 11:00 am – 12:45 at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, 301 W Elm Street, Graham, NC. Interment will be directly following the funeral at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S Church Street, Burlington, NC.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Lodge of Wake Forest and Autumn Care of Nash for their care and kindness shown to Shirley. A special thank you to her personal caregiver, Carolyn French and her husband Jim. She loved you both so much.
