David was born on October 9, 1946 in Douthit, OK. to Milton "Bud" and Phoebe Arnold (Brown) Sheppard.
On April 30, 1980 David married Betty Sue Sheppard (Siegrist) and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, David Sheppard Jr. and wife, Deanne of Aurora, MO. and Aaron Siegrist and wife, Carla of Verona, MO.; one daughter, Vanessa Gonzalez and husband, Gonzalo of Cassville, MO.; one brother, Ray Brown of Kentucky; three sisters, Liz Carter and husband, Fred of Baxter Springs, KS., Kathy Hatfield and husband, Tim of Baxter Springs, KS. and Kristy Dycus of Neosho, MO.; six grandchildren, Shania Etherton and husband, Cage of Aurora, Madison Siegrist of Aurora, Taylor Sheppard of Aurora, Dakota Brisco, Jordan Brisco and Lane Brisco all of Verona; two step-grandchildren, Ricardo Gonzalez and Ociel Gonzalez both of Monett; two great-grandchildren, Layla Brisco and Oscar Gonzalez and one special nephew who he cared about deeply, Ricki Sheppard of Baxter Springs, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mary Buzzard and Bonnie Sheppard; and his step-father, James Brown.
David had several family members and friends that will truly miss him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Spring River Cemetery in Verona."
