ELKHART, IN. -- Homer Lee Jones, 65, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital. Homer was born on December 19, 1954 in England, Arkansas to David Wesley Jones and Annie (Hawkins) Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, J.C. Jones.

Homer is survived by his fiancé, Theresa Haas of Elkhart; children, Adam (Sheri) Jones of Trumann, AR, Robert (Lindsay) Jones of Ft. Campbell, KY; Amanda (Christopher) Lutz-Hurley of Edwardsburg, MI and Kacy (Debra) Liles of Trumann, AR; step-children, Scott (Bre) Haas of Edwardsburg, MI, Chad (Kim) Haas of Osceola, IN, Kristen Collins of Burr Oak, MI, and Sarah (John) Nickerson of Granger, IN; Grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Haley, Jagger, Madison, Mason, Noah, Scott, Cody, Kazanna, Fallon, Emily, Adam, Brianna, Zoey, Elijah, Justin (Amber) and Blake; Great grandchild, Luke; brother and sisters, Harvey (Patsy) Jones of Saucier, MS, Willie Mae (Lowell) Wilkins of Elkhart, Bonnie (John) McMullen and Donnie (Joe) Baudier of Picayune, MS.

Homer was an independent truck driver with JFreight Transport LLC in Elkhart. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #599 and D.A.V. Chapter 19 in Elkhart. Homer loved watching football, Nascar racing and Fox News channel. He also was an accomplished drummer. Homer was strong willed yet caring and giving. Most of all, he was a family man whom loved his children and grandchildren very much.

A Celebration of Homer’s Life Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
