She played guard in basketball In high school for four years. She lived in Thomasville, GA for over 60 years and worked for the Georgia State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation until retirement at age 62. She was a longtime member of Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville. She moved to Savannah, GA in 2011 to be close to her son’s family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Randall Boyd; two daughters, Carol Diane Boyd and Deborah Boyd Hicks; two grandsons, Robert R Hicks and Justin R Riley; and second husband, Sammie Robertson. She is suvived by her son, Gary R Boyd and wife, Crystal; granddaughter, Kelly Riley Dantis and husband, Avant; three grandsons, Rand Boyd and wife Jenn, William Boyd and wife Megan, and Luke Boyd; six great grandchildren.
