An obit for George Brown Bancroft indicates that he was buried in this cemetery, probably near his wife, Marilla Tiffany Cone Bancroft and his son, George Paul Bancroft. George does not have a gravestone. Alfred is buried in St. Louis’ Bellefontaine Cemetery and Luther is buried in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. In April 1867 Cynthia married Russell Allyn of Macedon and lived with him until her death in 1873. Although she has no stone, it is most logical that she is buried here with her 1st husband and daughter, Elnoria. She is not listed in any other Wayne County cemetery, nor with Russell Allyn, who is buried with his 2nd wife in the Macedon Village Cemetery. Cynthia's parents, Jonathan Hill and Susannah Tiffany Hill Stewart, are also buried here in Freewill Cemetery.
