Michael Henry Autry, Jr. (Mike) of Covington, GA, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, at the age of 51. He was born in Covington on January 7, 1969 to Diane and Mickey Autry.



Mike was a happy, fun-loving person. He loved his two daughters and was so proud of them. Mike enjoyed all kinds of books and music. He liked playing trivia with his friends or just hanging out with them. Mike has always been interested in archeology and was very knowledgeable about it. He loved to make people laugh with his funny stories and everyone loved him.



Mike graduated from Newton County Hugh School in 1987. He worked for 30 years in the Printing Industry and taught Graphic Arts at Stockbridge High School for three years.



Mike was preceded in death by his father, Michael H. Autry (Mickey); paternal grandparents, Stella and Alva Autry; maternal grandfathers, Frank Rogers and Sam Cofer.



He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Autry, Maddie Autry; mother, Diane Sale; maternal grandmother, Mary Rogers; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Shawn Malcom; two nieces, Makenzie Bell, Maggie Malcom; aunt and uncle, Fay and Henry Cofer; and a number of cousins.



A Graveside Service for Mike will be he held Thursday, October 1, 2020 11:00 A.M., at the Salem Methodist Cemetery on Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Alan Posey officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.



CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
