RENO, Nev. -- A memorial service for the Reverend Theodore Feely, OFM conv., Rector of St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral of Reno, Nev., will be 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain.
Theodore Ronald William Feely died Sept. 25 in Reno at the age of 60. He was born September 3, 1931 in Silver Lake Township, to William and Dorothy (Zimbrick) Feely.
The Reverend Feely was educated in seminaries in Illinois, Ohio, and Chaska, Minn. He was a member of the Conventional Franciscan Order. He was ordained February 23, 1958, at the St. Paul Cathedral in St. Paul. He served parishes in Chicago, Rockford, Ill., Riverside, Norwalk, Stockton, and Pismo Beach, Calif. He was also Chaplain at Riverside General Hospital and California Youth Authority in Calif. He became Rector of St. Thomas Aquinas in Reno in 1988.
His funeral masses were held in Reno, Sept., 30 and Oct. 1, with burial at St. Joseph of Cupertino in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
He is survived by four sisters, Bonnie Sukalski and her husband Raymond of Fairmont, Barbara Welp and her husband George, Harriet Wesselmann and her husband Allan, all of Bancroft, Iowa, and Dorothy Hartwig and her husband Burdean of Welcome; four brothers, James Feely and his wife Sharlene of Blue Hill, Neb., Patrick Feely and his wife Gayle of Welcome, Thomas Feely and his wife Linda of Fairmont, Frank Feely and his wife Vicki of Lexington, Neb.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews, and one niece.
