Buddy was born in southern Clay County and had been a lifelong resident of the southern Clay County and Bostwick area. He served honorably in the United States Navy. In his earlier years he co-owned and operated Williams Grocery Store in Bostwick where he cut meat. He had worked as a stone mason and had owned and operated Williams’ Plastering and Construction in Bostwick. He had also worked in this area as Superintendent for Roughton Tile Company, based in Pensacola. He enjoyed tending to his hogs and cows, along with his gardening. There was a time in Buddy’s life when he turned his life over to the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. That is when God changed him into the wonderful Christian man that he was. He was a member of Decoy Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and served on several committees. He also was a former member of the Putnam Cattlemen’s Association. He was a loving and dedicated family man who especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
