Michael Lynn Tilley was born November 14, 1952 to Joyce Lavelle and Henry Olen Tilley Sr. in Leesville, LA.

Michael came into this world fighting for life born weighing @ 2lbs he was sent home. His Granny put him on the oven door in a shoebox to keep him warm and fed him with an eyedropper. Fighting again for life after being diagnosed with Multiple Myelome in 2018 and later heart disease, he left this world to be with God on September 27, 2020.

Michael’s childhood was spent in Anacoco, LA. with his family and many friends, graduating from Anacoco High School in 1971. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force being honorably discharged after serving 4 years.

As a single father Michael then moved to California with his two daughters, Suzanne Michelle and Lacy Anne, where he began to work in the telecommunications business. While in California he met Cassandra (Cassie) Oddo at a Disco Dance Club. They were married in 1980 in his hometown of Anacoco, they spent 40 amazing years together celebrating their 40th anniversary in July.

Michael worked in the telecommunications business holding many technical, supervisory and management positions at Nortel Networks for 21 years. When telecommuting became popular in 1989 Nortel allowed Michael to fulfill his dream of moving back home to Anacoco and working remotely. After retiring from Nortel he went to work at Ft. Polk (AECOM) followed by a Federal Government position and retired in 2016.

Michael loved to be out on the lake, camping and fishing any chance he got. One of his favorite places was Pleasure Point on Toledo Bend where he spent time just enjoying nature and making many friends. When home Michael loved to take care of his yard. He could be found out there mowing and picking up pecans and chit chatting with neighbors any given day.

Michael’s love will live on in the many people he knew, he had a giving spirit and never met a stranger, he was a friend to all.
