Gary attended Brazil High School. Before his accident, he worked for Brazil Roofing and volunteered at Clay County Headstart and Learning Center. Gary was an avid race fan and besides attending races at Lincoln Park Speedway, he parked cars there. Gary enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He
was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Winn; and a brother, Joey Winn.
Survivors include his dad, Gary “Jake” Long, Sr.; a son, Gary W. Long III; 2 daughters, Gail Long II and Kara Long; 3 sisters, Beth Long and fiancé, Frank Cotton, Catlin Long O’Dell and husband, Koty and Grace Long; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
