MYRTLE BEACH | Helen Leola Force, 77, died Jan. 9, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 11, 1927 in La Vernia, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Bessie Hartley. She was also predeceased by her first husband of twenty-three years, Roland Hicks, and her second husband of twenty-three years Clifford Force.

Survivors include two sons, Roland and his wife, Elizabeth, of Myrtle Beach and Byron Hicks of Rock Hill, four step-children, Greg Force and his wife, Aida, of New York City, Ed Force and his wife, Chris, of Atlanta, Ga., Joan Barker and her husband, Clark, of Washington, D.C. and Ellen Evans and her husband, John, of San Antonio, Texas, one grandson, Tommy Hicks of N.C., four step-grandchildren, Ryan, Allison, Patrick and Lane, and one great grandchild, Madison.

A visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at Twin City Memorial Gardens in Loris, Friday at 3 p.m.
