Samantha B. Allard
BIDDEFORD — Samantha B. “Sam” Allard, 67, of Biddeford, joined the angels on March 20, 2014 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by family.
She was born in Biddeford on June 28, 1946, to Roland and Helena (Dion) Foran.
She attended Notre Dame School and Thornton Academy.
On March 21, 1964, she married Larry Arthur Allard Sr. in Old Orchard Beach.
Sam held a variety of jobs, including Dunkin Donuts, where she made many friends and was known for inviting those over who would otherwise be alone for major holidays; she retired early due to declining health.
Sam enjoyed bringing joy to those around her, especially children. Whether hosting a Halloween party for 250 children or buying gifts and becoming Mrs. Claus for more than 100 holiday parties, she thrived in their happiness. She was a masterful seamstress, making stargazing sleeping bags, quilts and curtains, clothes, and many custom Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In retirement, Sam spent many years anonymously restoring angels and statues at local cemeteries.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: brothers, William and Robert Foran; and grandson, Nicholas Vachon.
She is survived by: her husband, Larry Arthur Allard Sr. of Biddeford; daughters, Lori Littlefield and husband Dana of Strong, Sherri Baud and husband Danny of North Waterboro and Jodi Allard of Arundel; son, Larry A. Allard Jr. of Ocean Park; brother, Paul Foran of Arundel; grandchildren, Dustin Dyer, Kristen Carll and husband Nick, Morgan Gregoire, Devin Littlefield and Delani Littlefield; great-grandchildren, Raine McClure and Harper Carll; several special nieces; special friends, Clare, Rey and Nancy, and Ellen; and many relatives, who were also very dear friends.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, www.hopememorial.com.
