Details of final flight:--- At 0830 hours on 14 January 1944, Boomerang A46-49 took off to carry out an altitude test. At 1000 hours the aircraft ran out of fuel and forced landed on the side of a road at Juggan. On landing, the aircraft struck a stump and overturned killing Pilot Officer Morrison. The accident was assessed as the result of Pilot error in switching on to the belly tank instead of the starboard tank when the port tank ran out of fuel as a belly tank was not attached to the aircraft.
