Larry Robert Gross was born in Madison, IN on May 1, 1954. He had a twin brother, Jerry (Jered) Gross who preceded him in death. His parents were Marshall and Emma Kathryn Curry Gross who also preceded him in death. He is survived by his younger brother, James Marshall Gross; his daughter Jennifer Gross Lien and her husband, Nick; his son, Brandon Gross, and his wife, Jennifer; his granddaughters, Gwendolyn, Brooklyn and Zoe; his former wife and close friend, Linda Niehaus Gross; several cousins and numerous close friends. He passed away on June 15, 2015 of an apparent heart attack.

Music played a large role in his life. In his teens, he was part of the popular Gross Brothers music group who made five records in the late 60's and early 70's. Larry played mandolin and sang with the group.

In the years before his death, Larry was well-known for his writing talents via his articles for City Beat magazine. He also authored several highly acclaimed books.

Larry will be remembered for being a loving father, his dry sense of humor, his wit and his ability to look and observe everyday situations in a different, interesting light.

He will always be missed by the many people who loved him.
