Joyce Marie Davis Hughes, 68, of Neosho, Missouri; died September 16, 2020, at Joplin, Missouri. Joyce was born on November 20, 1951; to Loye and Derice Davis, and graduated from St. Paul High School. She was a retired secretary for the University of Arkansas, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her daughter as well as being a devoted grandma to three boys.

Joyce loved Jesus, her family, and country; she was a woman of great faith, and adored her family. Mother, grandmother, sister, counselor, and friend to so many, Joyce was an eternal optimist and never met a stranger. Her hobbies included writing, caring for her pets, collecting coins and other small items, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Family gatherings were especially important to her, and she always found a way to make every celebration fun and meaningful. Her smile was beautiful and could light up any room.

Joyce is survived by her daughter and son in-law, and three grandchildren, who she referred to as “the boys”. She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020; at Brashears Funeral Home, Huntsville. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service. Please practice social distancing and masks are required for entry. A private family burial will be at Brashears Cemetery at Combs.
