Albert Svensen, the son of Martin and Anna Pedersen Svensen was born in Denmark April 10, 1903. He came to Newell in 1912 and received his education in Newell and attended Iowa State College at Ames. He was united In marriage to Elsie Phillips at Nain Lutheran Church on February 15, 1928. The lived in the Newell and Albert City area for several years. Later Albert went into the oil station business in Gilmore City and Humboldt until his retirement in 1962. Since the death of Mrs. Svensen in 1987 he has resided at the Williamsburg Care Center in Williamsburg. After an extended illness he died at the age of 87 year. Mr. Svensen is survived by his daughter, Betty Marshall, Williamsburg; his son, Dr. William Svensen, Aberdeen. S.D.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a cousin, Jens Pedersen, Newell.
