Phyllis G. Phillips, age 88, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Concord Health & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio. She was born January 10, 1932 in Clay County, West Virginia, to the late Jessie Clark Neal and Clark E. Neal. Phyllis received her GED when she was 57 years old, and then attended Hocking Technical College for one year and studied computer programming. Phyllis enjoyed knitting and was a member of the former Wills Chapel Church in Wellston. Phyllis is survived by her children, Wayne Phillips (Diane), Karen Phillips, and Michael Phillips; grandchildren, Kristin Willis (Will), Shane Long (Kelli), Bobbi Jo Baker (Butch), Eric Long, Michael Phillips, David Wheatley (Brooke), Melissa, Melinda, and Brian; as well as several great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Phillips; daughter, Sharon Wheatley; and son-in-law, Dave Wheatley. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, her body was cremated. A graveside service was held Monday, August 17, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at the Ridgewood Cemetery with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating.
