Born January 16, 1946 at the family home where she still lived, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Betty (Keller) Rice and was also preceded in death by her brothers: Lester Rice and Larry Rice. She was a graduate of Blain High School.
On June 23, 1962, she married Dean E. Berry and devoted her life to caring for her family. Dot was a loving and protective mother to her sons; was a wonderful cook and always kept busy inside and outside the home, tending to her family’s needs. She loved flowers and gardening; read her Bible faithfully; and in her spare time, enjoyed reading nonfiction books(especially about the Amish) and watching soap operas.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Dean; two sons: Dwayne E. Berry (and his wife, Diann), Loysville and Daniel E. Berry (and his wife, Danielle), Ickesburg; two grandchildren: Dena E. Kilian (and her husband, Chris), Avondale and David R. Berry, Shermans Dale; two step-grandchildren: Dillan J. Treaster (and his wife, Laetitia), Lewistown, and Gage P. Treaster, Ickesburg; two great grandchildren: Blaise C. Kilian and Clara M. Kilian; and her precious pup, Charlie.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, 3626 Sherman’s Valley Road, Loysville, with the Rev. Dr. Doran P. Wray officiating. There will be a public viewing Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery, Ickesburg.
