Hospital in Fishers. He was born August 7, 1955 in Indianapolis to Charles and Ihlia (Brinkman) Thompson. Rick retired as a loader operator from Martin Marietta on January 1, 2020 after 40 years’ service. He was a member of Teamsters Local #135, had been a Cub Scout Leader, a volunteer fireman with the City of Lawrence and a member of the Lions Club. Rick enjoyed volleyball, camping, fishing, horseshows, poker, cold beer and anything outdoors, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and his 5 grandsons.

Rick is survived by wife Deborah (Beeler) Thompson, whom he married October 27, 1978, daughter: Elizabeth (Steffen) Null; son: Ricky Jr. (Briana) Thompson; grandsons: Austin, Owen and Rylan Null as well as Jack and Connor Thompson; brothers: Mike and Scott Thompson, Kevin (Elaine) Richardson; sister: Judy (Jack) Wiseman; brother-in-law: Mike Beeler; sister-in-law: Nancy Lakey and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jim, Tom and Ron Thompson and nephews Jimmie and Eddie Thompson.

A service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
